I attended my highschool buddy, Jennifer's daughter Shelley's wedding last week.  It was lovely and so fun to see all of her cute family together.  Shelley and Mason had their dogs as ring bearers - I just loved that.  Millcreek Canyon - lots of memories there, it was fun to make a new one.

I got to go to LV and keep an eye on these cute kids for a few days.   These pictues really capture their personalities I think!   We had a great time.   As usual.

Catching UP?

 A funny picture I took over Easter holiday....We had fun with the shiny countertop.

 You had to be there, but my 4 gkids were dancing  and playing  bumper cars with each other, as they put their sleeping bags over their heads.... hilarious.  This went on for quite a while...Hysterical laughter ensued, until hysterical crying ended it.   These kids make me laugh!!!

My B-day Weekend in LV(copying Song)

Sadly I never saw my favorite band when they were touring (who did?) but I got to go see a really fun Tribute Band at PH in LV ! It was a sweet gift from my girl. Song, Jayme and I went and Dennis watched over the flock which included Preston and the 4 Johns! (In keeping with the theme, that sounds like a band doesn't it?) We had a great time - this band sounded just like the Beatles, didn't look like them (bad wigs) much but SOUNDED right! It was brilliant fun.

And me and my girl enjoying our Girls Gone Wild night out... (we really are only wild in our minds!) On my actual day, Jayme and I attended Mike and Amanda's wedding at City Hall,

followed by a lovely dinner hosted by the Thorpes! It was really nice. Amanda is lovely and their new little (not so little 4 kids going on 5) family was very sweet. I'm glad we could be there. I love this picture of them.

It was a very fun weekend!! Weather was great for traveling and the kids had a really good time too.

I am reposting some shots of the kids that Song had on her blog... I'm copying her but they were so cute I had to post them too. Check out Will's "do". He looks like a teenage heartthrob. He is getting so tall and grown up, I see the teenager peeking thru. He always makes me laugh.

We took Ian and Cady to lunch on Sat - just the 2 of them and left the other 3 at the house to play. Ian really enjoyed his dessert... He was impressed with the cooky size! And it was all his, which was a big part of the enjoyment, I think.

This was actually Miss Cady's 2nd piece of pie.... This tiny girl can EAT. (a true Hildebrand) She is a tomgirl. Teeny tiny voice and self but great big personality and opinions.

Viv got glasses! She looks so grown up! She also makes me laugh a lot. Viv flys by the seat of her pants... I just love this picture of her. Had to share (again) -

My rant for the day - I think a person is in charge of what they put in their own mouth. If you don't like Paula Deen's cooking - don't prepare it, but don't blame her when you are over-weight or diabetic. I just don't get why she is getting criticized. Sure she missed an "opportunity" to teach - but isn't that her decision? Sheesh.

Thriller!!!

My friend Kandis and I went to the 2011 show of Thriller at Kingsbury Hall. We had front row seats and we had so much fun!! Bubbles the Klown was hilarious and the films included during scene changes were very entertaining!

We had a blast. GO if you have the opportunity....

Memories

I was visiting with my parents and my Dad brought up the fact that my mom "can't rememer 5 minutes ago" but was very surprised when she remembered the name of an ice cream parlor that was in SLC downtown, next to the "Uptown" Theatre. Now I vaguely remember a theatre being there when I worked in the city during the 70's - it was an X rated place as I recall...back before home videos .... anyway, my Mother recalled the Keeley Ice Cream Co. and how much she liked going there. It was built in 1917 - I didn't see a history on when it was closed, but I assume that my Mom went there during the 30s -40s. I pulled these up on line and thought I would share with you, pictures of one of my Mom's old time happy places. I can just picture her on the stool, having a cherry coke or an ice cream sundae!

Pioneer Days! (aka Pie n' Beer Day) 2011

As I take the time out to think about my Pioneer heritage, I'm always thankful fo the stamina and strength that our ancesters had to have to 1) make the trek in the first place and 2) to settle in a new land and start a new life with virtually nothing but what they were able to haul, and in some cases, carry. Just (sitting on my butt, in my little living room, with all my life luxuries, watching the people who do the Pioneer trek each year in honor of the people who really did it, makes me so in awe of the Pioneers, who came here to start a new life. It took such guts - I'm grateful for the rich heritage (and for an extra day off work). Hope all you sons and daughters of Utah Pioneers think about your grandparents, both great and great-great and beyond and are appreciative of the pain and work they went thru to get here! I know I am.
