Last Weekend in May!

Song and Dennis and the kids came in on Thurs PM to attend Song's aunt Josie's funeral. (Larry's sister) The kids rah-hahhed in the yard and had a really good time with Gma - as usual. Note the girl's hair for later in the blog.
This is the snail that captured the young one's attentions so completely. Will took several pictures of it and they were so fascinated. There were about 3 of them sliming the wood fence in the backyard. It made me smile to see the interest and excitement that these little gourmet garden pests elicited from these little kids!

This pic of the "twins" makes me laugh.... Cady is behind them, in the house crying to
come out. As you can see, Viv and E are ignoring all that action.
Will was playing basketball - he did really well !! Go Will ~ sister Viv was his cheerleader, she cheered him on and we all were very impressed...... he was really good.

New do's for the girls - Cady got her first haircut. We went to the Cookie Cutters and that
was great fun. Cady is so serious, but she sat still and seemed to be okay. The blow dryer freaked her out a little at the very end. Of course my battery died at this point. It was darling dry too.
Viv also got the salon treatment. She has been before so she was very comfortable too. Except the dang blow dryer - she didn't like it either. Very stylin'!!! It was fun to see them. The funeral was nice. Josie was a really sweet woman and always was so good to Song and to me.
I'm glad we were able to be there. Will and I attended and then left afterward and got the other kids. He was a little nervous but got over it. We had a good time together.
Lots of screaming, crying, kissing, laughing, running, jumping, yelling, and so on ! I was tired on Sunday!!

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

Wasatch Lawn, soft drizzle falling, green and quiet. Our relatives were very laid back
and even if David thinks they are a little "stiff" - it was a good visit. Being a g-ma, I appreciate my Grandma very much and still miss her. Didn't know my Grandpa, but sounds like he was
a character and a wonderful man. I miss what I didn't get to know. Doing the cemetary visit
is one of my favorite things. Morbid? No. It is very peaceful for some reason.

Mother, directing the clean up, clipping and flower arranging. She was actually a bit
bossy! I think she was showing off for her parents....

The next generation, getting lessons on the cleaning, care and tending of the family plots.
He said he wasn't tall enough to do it by himself yet. Jayme spent Saturday (with Sue and Kim)
at Murray cemetary placing flags on the veteran's graves there so she had it down.
Surprise visit from Mike and the boys - Sue had a BBQ on Saturday - Preston was delighted with someone closer to his own size to wrestle with....

Adam (Skouge) was taking pictures of people with my camera - nice shot! (NOT)

Becky with some of her offspring. 3 sweet men and the woman who loves them. Can you
tell from her expression?

Dad, enjoying the party ever so much.

Preston - Dad stopped by the office last week to show us the result of their park visit. He takes
after his Grandpa.

Weekly Update May 12-20

My uncle Turk (my Mom's brother) passed away so my folks and sisters Sue and B went to Manila for the funeral. It was a nice little trip (just overnight) and I rode up with B & George.
It has been literally years since I've seen my cousins so it was a sad and happy reunion. Really good to see my cousins though. Mother behaved which was appreciated, we didn't have any fights or anything. We got back from Manila and I went and got Z and dashed to the airport so I could pick up the travelers (Jayme, Carey, Preston) from the East Coast and get them home. I was surprised because I missed the stupid dog once I got her home....weird! Preston had a whoop de doop time on Sunday because it was warm enough to run thru the sprinklers - at least in this day and age it's okay- Mom told me that HER mother would never let her anywhere near the water hose until August - because it was too cold and she would catch diseases.... actually i believe in those days polio was an issue.... Mom and Dad came over to Jaymes Sunday for dinner so we got to rehash everything. Anyway it was a happy/sad week and I was fascinated with the giant wind mills that are all over Wyoming. (It doesn't take much!) Clean, renewable energy!!! I saw those and I missed my brother David* for the rest of the ride.......again, weird.
(*Not - this is for you Davino)
Preston, back from the trip and enjoying the hot weather - I caught this expression just right~

Not sure what he's doing here, but is loving it..
More clownshoe activity out in the yard.
Windmills keep on Turning ......They were GIANT! So cool.

The entry way into my Grandfather's (originally) ranch. It was beautiful.

Mom and Aunt Gloria (!)
Cousin Louise and Cousin Steve with Dad at the new Manila Cemetary.

Cousin Jane, Becky, and Cousin Marjorie (same place) -

Mothers Day Weekend

I was fortunate enough to spend MD with my M! Here she is, all sassy with sister Sue and friend Barb on the 9th hole at Mick Riley - the course was lush and lovely - it was very fun.
We played golf and then went to Totem's for brunch. Becky joined us for brunch. How lucky that I can still go golf with my mom?? I'm very grateful for that blessing. Missed my sister Jayme and missed my littel girl Songie, but it was a brilliant day - had lots of fun.

George, Dad, Sue and Barb at the Clubhouse at Mick Riley (prior to play)

Went to Michele's piano concert on Saturday night - it was really nice and I was
thoroughly entertained! She did a great job and the other pianist David Nevue was
wonderful as well. Beautiful and creative music written and performed by artists!
Got the tomatoes, zucchini and eggplant in, also the cukes. Still need to find a spot for
my hot peppers - might put them in the front. Still deciding. All my herbs are planted and
fragrant - the honeysuckle is blooming and glorious. I love this time of the year!

Someone is digging in the dirt and making hun faces .... nice.

My sweet brother, cleaning the windows for me!! He's so good.
We got together to celebrate Mother's Day, as Jayme was leaving for MA
before the actual date. Lucky for me my brother was in town and he came over
and helped out around the casa. Nice. Made for a lovely day - missed the ones
who were'nt there but enjoyed the ones who were. xoxo all around.
